On January 26, 2001 she was mauled to death by two Presa Canario’s in the hallway of her San Francisco apartment building. Diane (left) with her life partner Sharon Smith (right). The dog responsible for most of Diane’s injuries was a Presa Canario named Bane. Presa Canario’s are “holding” or “gripping” dogs that were bred by Spanish cattlemen on the Canary Islands in the sixteenth century to pin down bulls for slaughter. Marjorie Knoller and Robert Noel (left) were the owners of the two dogs that killed Diane Whipple. Paul “Cornfed” Schneider (right) was a feared leader of the Aryan Brotherhood and the couples “son”. They adopted him when he was 39-years-old.
